About
The primary function of the club is to provide a regular forum where accordion players of all skill levels, beginners to advanced, have a place to play for and with like-minded other people in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere.
We meet on 2nd and 4th Thursday nights, 7:00 p.m., at Bear Canyon Senior Center (see the Schedule page for driving directions). On 2nd Thursdays, we usually begin with solos, duets and trios. Note, however, that playing solo is entirely up to the individual; we encourage each other to play, but we don’t pressure anyone.
After we run out of solos or time, we play several pieces as a group, which serves to sharpen our musical skills – and is a lot of fun!
4th Thursdays are devoted entirely to full ensemble music.
In addition to the playing, we sometimes have one of our members share something of an educational nature about the instrument or it’s history, playing technique or practice tips. And our meetings also serve to make us aware of other accordion “happenings” in the form of concerts, workshops and conventions.
We invite you to join us! You’re welcome to come to our next scheduled meeting: click on the Meeting Schedule or Contact Us button to get information. Until then, practice, practice, practice!
